Pay the Piper

I watch horrified
As you slide the stiletto in your eye
Slit your own throat
Just for attention
Pour it into the moat
That's filled with our apprehension

Drink deep as the life blood slips away
And every waning day
You push the world away

What does it matter really?
As long as you think you're right?
No one can live your life
Not your children or your wife

As long as you're appeased
Do whatever that you please
Drink deep of this disease
And wonder why you're dying

Make the same mistakes
Time and time again
Alienate your friends
And ignore the children crying

Choose the ones to use you
While the others that will lose you
Wouldn't join the downward spiral
It's like they never cared at all
Those that walked away
From the piper that you pay
